Housed on the property of the historic Devon House in the nation’s capital city, Kingston, visitors can find the Commissary JA where there is an eclectic variety of some of the most delicious and inventive fare to be had on the island.
Helmed by one of Jamaica’s most sought after caterers, consultants and chefs, Christina Simonitsch and her partner Sajato Jarrett. The two decided to take over a kiosk at the famed property a little over two years ago.

Christina and Sajato focus mainly on producing jarred and bottled goods, desserts, dips and one of our perennial favourites when we are in town - fruity, boozy popsicles. Some of their most popular items include the Scotch Bonnet Sea Salt & Sauce, Vanilla Bean extract, tiramisu and yes…the aforementioned popsicles. For those with dietary concerns, most of the products at the Commissary are vegan and gluten free.

Christina makes every effort to utilize the best quality raw ingredients in addition to many local, seasonal items. This approach has always been central to her approach at her primary business Simos Bread and Catering and to the Commissary JA.
“We try to keep the products simple but packed with flavour - to make usage easy, diverse and fun! We add recommendations for use on all of our labels and we are always available to assist with suggestions.”
So, if you’re ever in Kingston, make sure to visit these lovely, talented folks at the Commissary. You’ll be very happy you did.
The Commissary JA is open Tuesday- Saturday but is closed on Sundays, Mondays and public holidays.
